If you’re a fan, the Star Wars Instant Pot is a perfect addition to your collection. Now you can pressure cook like a true Jedi.
The Star Wars collection is available in three sizes and five of your favorite characters. Sadly, the Chewbacca model is no longer available, but you can still get BB-8, R2D2, Darth Vader, Storm Trooper, and Little Bounty.
Between all these modes, R2-D2 fits the bill perfectly. Artoo is indeed shaped like an Instant Pot pressure cooker minus the extremities. Maybe that’s why it’s the best-selling Star Wars Instant Pot.

Anyway, I won’t get into too much detail with R2D2 because surely, you already know it. Instead, let’s talk more in-depth about the Instant Pot itself.
So, without further ado, let’s start with…
“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”
Kidding aside, let’s begin with a quick comparison between all those Star Wars kitchen gears.

Summary: If you want the option to upgrade later on with the air fryer lid, then you should consider the 6-quart versions: R2D2, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, and Little Bounty.
The Star Wars collection is based on the classic Instant Pot Duo with seven core cooking functions and traditional pressure release. Hopefully, in the next release, they’ll use a more up-to-date model like the Instant Pot Duo Plus or the Instant Pot Max for R2-D2.
Function-wise, these various Instant Pots are practically the same. You only need to decide between the capacity and the design (or perhaps your favorite character).
In terms of design, I fancy the Darth Vader Instant Pot the most. Its dark-colored elegance will likely complement your kitchen aesthetics.
Moreover, it’s perfect for all the Darth Vader fans out there, “*breathes* turn to the dark side.”
With all that said, let’s proceed to the pros and cons.

What can you cook in the Star Wars Instant Pot?
Like R2-D2, the Instant Pot is an invaluable machine (kitchen-wise) with many cooking skill sets. Of course, R2D2 is still astronomically better than any Earthling droid (to date).
Anyway, I digress.
It features 7 core functions—pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sautéing pan, yogurt maker, and warmer. As a result, you can literally make hundreds or thousands of recipes with the R2D2 Instant Pot. For instance, there are already 1,000+ FREE recipes waiting for you from the website’s directory alone.
Here are all its major cooking functions:
Is Instant Pot Star Wars easy to use?
I’ll be honest with you. If you’re new to Instant Pot, you’ll find it a little challenging to use. Though it comes with one-touch programs there are underlying rules that you have to follow.
Say if you’re cooking rice, there’s different water ratios for different kind of grains. And basically, all Instant Pot pressure cooker can steam, but there’s no button for it.
Well, this is something that we’re working on. So stay tuned 🙂
In summary, there’s a moderate learning curve with all multicookers.
Though the design is amazing, it comes with a few cons.
First off, the white text on the silver background of the R2D2 Instant Pot makes it hard to read.
Secondly, the Star Wars Instapot doesn’t have high-tech features. I don’t mean the holograms and stuff, but the Instant Pot itself. For instance, it doesn’t have automatic sealing nor a touchscreen control panel, unlike the more advanced Instapots.
Here’s the major bummer:
The multi-cooker doesn’t feature any star wars effects, particularly R2D2 sounds. *beep* *boop* Perhaps I expected too much? After all, Artoo is an out-of-this-world (pun intended) high-end astromech droid.
Luckily, the last two don’t really affect the overall usability of this device.
Regardless, it’s still an excellent Instant Pot. Besides, even with design alone, it’s already a win-win that’s hard to say no to.
How to clean the Star Wars Instapot?
Fortunately, Instant Pots cleans easily. Here’s a video demo.
Ultimately, you only need to worry about the inner pot and lid (along with its removable smaller parts). The base, on the other hand, solely needs a simple wiping with a damp cloth.
Here’s more:
Compared to traditional cooking, maintaining an Instapot is also easier. Think about it, you can sauté then pressure or slow cook in ONE pot. As a result, you’ll have fewer pans/pots to wash.

Pick one, or you could also get the entire catalog.
Who knows? Maybe it will become a collectible item, a few decades from now.

Don’t take my word for it, here’s a short video demonstration from Tracen and Indigo.
The Star Wars Instant Pot features 7 major cooking functionalities. Like the real droids from the movie, it’s capable of many things. The available character designs are R2D2, BB-8, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Chewy, or Little Bounty. Ultimately, the Star Wars Instant Pot is perfect for any fan of the franchise.

Is the Star Wars Instant Pot worth it?
Here’s what I believe is the ultimate selling point of the Star Wars Instant Pot Pressure Cooker:
You can finally say something like, “could you please check on R2-D2?”
I mean, isn’t that cool? And of course, it’s also a capable multi-cooker, so rest assured that it’ll be money well-spent.
