The Ninja Foodi Blender is having a moment. It’s one of the most popular blending machines from SharkNinja. In fact, it’s one of the flagship blenders for their Foodi series.
Should you need a more compact option, you might want to check their Ninja Smoothie Blender. And if you don’t want the glass pitcher, the brand is also offering a standard package in the same product line: Ninja Foodi Power Pitcher System and Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System.
Now, let’s get back to the Ninja Foodi blender.
There are two unique things about the Ninja HB152—it’s the only Ninja Glass Blender, and it’s the sole machine in its class with a heating element.

Those features can bring soups to a boil, and it can also help you sauté onion, garlic, and other ingredients. Some brands can also make hot soups, but it won’t get past 158°F (70°C).
That brings us to its more extended title—The Ninja Hot and Cold Blender.
IMHO, it really is an excellent product with a remarkable quirk. It’s a fantastic smoothie maker and as well as a piece of versatile kitchen equipment.
The real question is, does it live up to the hype?
Let’s find out.

Ninja Hot and Cold Blender Features
What can you make with Ninja Foodi Blender?
You can expect the Ninja HB152 Glass Blender to have many applications, considering it’s a multifunctional machine.
Let’s get right into it:
This Ninja Foodi Cold and Hot Blender is excellent for making hot piping soups. It’s the only blender in the market that can bring its contents to a boil, thanks to its built-in heating element.
That is probably its most significant difference to Vitamix blenders or Blendtec blender as these competing brands use friction heat to get the blended mixture to 158°F (70°C). Since it doesn’t reach boiling point, the Ninja Glass Blender has a clear advantage.
And because the Ninja HB152 doesn’t rely on the machine’s blending speed, you have full control over your soup’s texture. If you prefer a chunky soup, you can do so by pressing the Hearty mode.
Besides soups, you can also make nut butter, dips and sauces, and healthy frozen treats with this machine.
Now, the question is:
Does this extra function affect its usability?
Is Ninja Glass Blender easy to use?
In today’s world, everything is getting smarter, including kitchen appliances. However, advanced technology shouldn’t mean “complicated to use.”
The Ninja Foodi Hot and Cold Blender scores 3 out of 5 in terms of usability. Essentially it’s not hard to use, but it’s also not super easy. It’s in the middle ground, per se.
For starters, the controls are labeled, which makes it straightforward. The Auto-iQ technology is the leading scorer for the ease of use factor. You only need a simple press of a button to get the machine going.
It also has 3-speed buttons and a pulse if you want to customize your own recipe. However, given that it only has three-speed selections, you don’t have complete control.
NOT fun fact:
The most significant disadvantage of this product is it’s not dishwasher safe. Even with its self-clean preset, it’s not the easiest to clean.
Here’s why:
If an unfortunate event happens, such as spills outside the glass pitcher, you have to clean it manually. Sounds easy? Since the heating element is fixed within the container base, you have to be extra careful not to put any water inside it.
Moreover, if there’s any persistent food inside the glass jar, you have to remove it with a brush. It can get frustrating. Fortunately, food debris getting stuck doesn’t happen too often.
So, if you’re not messy in the kitchen, you won’t have this cleaning problem.

Don’t take my word for it, here’s a quick video demo of Ninja’s one and only blender with a glass jar.
The Ninja Foodi Blender highlights a one-of-a-kind heating element, giving it the name, Hot and Cold blender. Apart from typical smoothies, cocktails, or sorbet—it can saute, cook, and infuse water as well. It also features 11 automatic presets, such as self-clean, to maximize usability. To top it off, it’s the only powerful blender that has a glass container.
Technology
While it is undoubtedly a versatile machine, it’s a break from the brand’s tradition. It doesn’t come with any accessories. There’s no food processor attachment nor a single-serve smoothie cup.
Fortunately, the Ninja HB152 Foodi Blender is not just for making smoothies. It’s a blender that can also cook. Who knew that you could sauté with your blender?
Now, let’s talk about its “Auto-IQ” technology, the brand’s fancy phrasing for its preprogrammed cycles. It’s a combination of continuous blending, pulsing, and stopping for a certain amount of time.
There are multiple settings for the most common recipes you might create—soups, smoothies, juices, frozen drinks, ice cream, sauté onions and garlic, sauces and dips, infused water, and cocktail.
These set-and-forget presets add an extra level of convenience and eliminates the risk of over or under-blending. While you’re making soup (that’s going to run for 20 minutes), you can leave your glass blender and work on other stuff.
