Top 7 Best Cold Press Juicers
Best Overall: Omega VSJ843
✅ Why To Buy
- Solid brand name
- Backed by 15-year warranty
- Powerful motor
- Low pulp in juice
- Doesn’t clog easily.
❌ Why To Avoid
- Doesn’t contain any other food processing functions. E.g. can’t make nut butters.
- Pricy
The Omega VSJ843 Series belongs to the brand’s updated line of vertical slow juicers optimized for juicing leafy greens. The RPM is slower, but it has a more juicing power.
In addition to being an excellent green juice maker, it can also take on any type of produce. It can also process dense fruits and veggies, citruses, and even wheatgrass.
One great feature to love about these juicers are their ability to mix exact amount of juices. Say you want to make an 8oz juice, just close the tap and fill it up to that level. All Cold Press Juicers have a calibration.
Omega VSJ843 can hold 450ml or two glasses of juice. If you need more than just two servings, just release the tap.
Unlike other Omega Juicers, the VSJ series doesn’t have extra food processing functions. It’s a standalone juice maker machine.
Omega is a trusted brand with unbeatable warranty coverage. It’s not unusual to get a 15-year guarantee with any of their products.
Nutribullet Slow Juicer – Budget Pick
✅ Why To Buy
- Affordable
- Powerful, quiet motor
- Large chute requires less prep
❌ Why To Avoid
- Clogs easier than competing units
A newcomer on the Best Cold Press Juicer list is the Nutribullet Slow Juicer, our best affordable slow juicing machine.
I was excited when it was released in 2021. It’s a great Slow-Press Juicer from the company who brought us Magic Bullet.
This unit features a powerful yet very quiet motor that is able to juice most anything. One note, however, is that the juicer tends to clog on very fibrous material easier than more expensive juicers.
What’s great about this product is the company didn’t opt for the standard narrow chute. Instead, it chose the whole slow juicer architecture, which gives us even more options for slow juicers with a more generous feeding tube. The tube is so large, you can insert an entire small apple!
This product is rather new, hitting the market in April of 2021. But it’s giving some of the top juicer brands a run for their money.

Kuvings EVO820 – Premium Pick
✅ Why To Buy
- Lot of style options
- Optional citrus module allows for better extraction from citris fruits
- Quiet
- Large chute means less prep work
- Can make nut milks
❌ Why To Avoid
- Not dishwasher safe
- Leather finish increases price of unit
Without a doubt, Kuvings EVO820 Whole Slow Juicer is indeed a classy premium juicer. There is no other juicer in the market that is wrapped in high-quality leather.
It comes in four different colors to match the motif of your kitchen. You can have it in Gun Metal, Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, or Black.
On top of that, it’s not just an ordinary vertical juicer. It’s a Whole Slow Juicer. Its feeding chute is twice as big as standard cold press juicing machines.
Whole Slow Juicers can take a whole apple and larger portions of produce, cutting your prep time significantly. It can process 3-inch long sections of celeries, making it a perfect choice for making celery juices.
Apart from being a fantastic celery juicer, it’s also great for making green juices. And if you mainly want to juice citruses, there’s an optional accessory that can turn Kuvings EVO820 into your very own citrus juicer.
Like Hurom H200, it can also make nut-based milk alternatives as well as sorbet and other frozen treats.

Hurom H101 – Best Easy-Clean Slow Juicer
✅ Why To Buy
- An affordable premium juicer
- More efficient at juicing wheatgrass than most vertical masticating juicers
- Quiet
❌ Why To Avoid
- Small chute requires more prep work
- Not dishwasher safe
Hurom H101 is still a good option despite being outshined by Hurom H200. It shares the same easy-to-clean feature, but it’s a cheaper alternative
It’s not as affordable as the Nutribullet Slow Juicer or the Tribest Shine. However it’s the most affordable option in terms of premium juicers.
You still have to cut your produce into small pieces, but all it takes is a quick rinse to bring it back to its mint condition.
It doesn’t have a filter basket, and you don’t need to brush it. If you want to be thorough, you can soak the detachable parts in warm water with a few drops of dishwashing soap, then give it a good rinse and let it dry.
This easy-clean design is unique to the Hurom brand. No other Cold Press Juicer manufacturer offers the same technology.
It’s perfect for making green juices, celery juices or any juice recipe that you can find on the internet. It can pretty much take on any type of fruits and veggies.
It can also help you make healthy frozen treats, tofu and nut-based milk alternatives.
The Big Squeeze – Best Breville Cold Press Juicer
✅ Why To Buy
- Less expensive vs similar units
- Very quiet
- 10-year warranty
- Self-cleaning system
❌ Why To Avoid
- Not dishwasher safe
Breville is the go-to brand for high-speed juice extractors, but they also have a cold press juicer machine in their arsenal—The Big Squeeze.
It’s a whole slow juicer like the EVO820, with a dual chute system.
The 3-inch chute can take a whole apple and large portions of produce, while the smaller chute can handle longer sections of fruits and veggies.
As I said, Whole Slow Juicers are great for making celery juices because of their chute profile. You don’t need to cut the juicy stalks into small pieces, 3-inch long sections will do. Plus, Slow Juicers will yield more juice than centrifugal type machines.
Breville Big Squeeze can juice all types of produce, be it denser ones, citruses, and the most challenging of all, leafy greens.
What you’ll love about this product is its decade long warranty, as you’ll only get a year if you opt for any of the brand’s Juice Fountains.
Hurom HP – Best Compact Cold Press Juicer
✅ Why To Buy
- Outstanding design
- Can make frozen sorbets
- Can make nut milks
- Quiet
❌ Why To Avoid
- Narrow chute requires more prep time
Hurom HP is probably the cutest juicer in the market. It’s a minimalist product available in refreshing hues; white, minty green, and pink.
Surprisingly it’s the most popular Hurom Juicer.
It’s the second generation of Hurom’s personal juicer series. The juicing chamber can hold up to 350ml of juice, good enough for a single serving. That’s what makes it a personal product. It’s your juice and yours alone.
But if you’re also preparing juice for other people in your household, just open the tap to make an unlimited amount of refreshing, healthy juices.
Hurom HP is a versatile slow juicer; it can process a wide array of fruits and vegetables. It can make green juices, beet juices, celery juices, or any kind of juice.
It’s on par with Hurom H101 when it comes to juice extraction efficiency. And, yes, you can also make healthy frozen treats and nut-based milk alternatives with this machine.
Omega MM900HDS Celery Juicer
✅ Why To Buy
- Optimized for making celery juices
- Slow RPM motor for maximum nutrient retention
- High juice yield
- Dishwasher safe components
- Quiet
- 15-year Warranty
❌ Why To Avoid
- Strictly for juicing
- Not suited for processing soft fruits
- Narrow chute may require additional prep time
The Omega MM900HDS is designed for maximum efficiency for juicing celery. It has a specially designed end cap to extract every ounce of celery juice it can.
But because it is designed specifically for celery, it isn’t the best at juicing other fruits and vegetables. Its narrow chute requires more prep work when working with something besides celery. Also, it cannot make the nut milks and butters that other cold press juicers can.
The components are very easy to assemble when juicing and disassemble when finished. All components are dishwasher safe, making cleanup a breeze!
This juicer also comes with a 15-year warranty. So you’ll be at ease when buying one.
What is a Cold Press Juicer?
In theory, a they are a juice extractor that doesn’t generate heat. Hence, the word cold press. Instead of grinding, this type of machine squeezes or presses the juice to separate it from the pulp.
However that’s a big myth. All juice makers produce some degree of heat, but not significant enough to cause the nutrients to break down. Discount juicers made a lengthy study on this matter.
The ultimate reason why these juicers retain more nutrients lies in the slow juice extraction process. That’s why we can also refer to them as Slow Juicers.
Masticating Juicers, Twin Gear Juicers, and Hydraulic Juice Presses are all cold press juicing machines or slow juice extractors. What these juicers have in common is their RPM rating. None of these juicers exceed 100 revolutions per minute (RPM).
In comparison, a Centrifugal Juicer can reach a speed of 3,500 to 15,000 RPM. It’s as fast as a blender.
To keep things simple, we are going to refer to Vertical Slow Juicers as our Official Cold Press Juicing Machine.
Why Slow Juicers are the Best?
The slow juice extraction process prevents high amounts of oxygen from getting into the juice, hence limiting the break down of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.
This process is called oxidation. When you peel an apple, the part that is exposed to oxygen turns to brown. The same thing happens to your juice at an exponential rate.
Let’s take the RPM ranges above, let’s say the average slow juicer runs at 50 RPM and 10,000 RPM for centrifugal juicers. That means oxidation is 200 times greater in high-speed juice makers, not to mention that centrifugal juicers have a large juicing chamber with plenty of room for oxygen.
Unless juicing happens in a vacuum, there is no way to prevent oxidation.
I don’t have a study to back this claim, but it is a known fact that cold-pressed juice last for three days, while juice extracted by high-speed juicing machines only last for a day.

Buying Tips – What to Look for in a Cold Press Juicer?
Maintenance and Usability
Most cold press juice makers have a pesky filter basket that is a chore to clean, but not the Hurom H101 or the Hurom H200. With an improved filtration system, all it takes is a good rinse to bring it back to its mind condition.
Versatility
Some slow juicer brands offer more than just juicing. Some can make healthy frozen desserts, tofu, and nut-based milk alternative. This extra feature will surely level up your juicing experience.
Feeder Tube Size
The main disadvantage of these types of juicers is the small chute opening. It makes the whole juicing process slow. If you like to make things a tad faster, there’s a new breed of slow juicers with massive feeder chute—whole slow juicers.
Peripherals
A model with a long cord will give you more flexibility. Unless you have a power outlet near your counter, this wouldn’t be an issue.
Juice Container
Most juicers come with a complimentary container that is designed to prevent splashes. Check if your juicer model comes with a juice container. Otherwise, you need to start looking for a perfect glass that would exactly match the height of the spout.
BPA Content
BPA or Bisphenol A is a toxic substance found in plastic that has been linked to several diseases, including cancer. Though FDA released a report that the BPA levels present in plastic and cans are safe for food consumption, it’s still highly advisable to pick a BPA free product.
Brand Reputation
Leading brands won’t disappear overnight, they are built on integrity and a rock-solid reputation. You won’t get this peace of mind with a newer and unknown manufacturer.
Warranty
Warranty is a no-brainer. You’ll get a better deal with longer warranty coverage.
Price
Last but not least, your budget. Gone are the days when a decent unit will set you back at least 300 bucks. However, if you still prefer quality over price, then go for trusted brands like Hurom, Omega Juicer, Kuvings, or Breville Juicer.
Over To You
If you reached this point, you should know by now what a slow juicer is, why is it better than high-speed juice extractors, and what to look for when buying the Best Cold Press Juicer.
Perhaps you’ve gone through the Top Seven Slow Juicers and already made your choice. I won’t make this conclusion long, so go ahead and get that juicer. Better yet, get the best one—Hurom H200.
